FESS Hire helps you keep winter projects moving safely and on schedule, even with only three weeks to go until Christmas. From lighting towers and powered access to barriers and generators, we can still get the right kit to the site so you can finish the year strongly. Try us for your winter equipment hire.
Whether you are preparing a Christmas market, completing an external clean, or pushing to close out construction works before the break, it is not too late to bring in winter-ready equipment and support.
Getting Set for the Final Weeks Before Christmas
Winter conditions are already here: shorter days, colder temperatures and more challenging ground conditions. But your projects have not stopped; they have become more demanding.
At FESS Hire, we understand that the weeks leading up to Christmas can be the most intensive of the year. You may be:
- Extending working hours to hit end-of-year milestones
- Trying to maintain safe, clearly lit sites in poor daylight
- Balancing last-minute requests from clients and event organisers
This is precisely where having the right hire partner for your winter equipment hire makes the difference. We can move quickly to fill gaps in your fleet, improve safety and help you keep teams productive through the final push.
Winter Projects We Are Supporting Right Now
Instead of looking ahead to a series, this is about what you might need on site today. Typical jobs we are helping with in the run-up to Christmas include:
1. Powering Christmas Markets and Events
Festive events need to be safe, welcoming and compliant.
We regularly supply:
- Heras fencing and Chapter 8 barriers
- Lighting towers and mobile floodlights
- Portable generators and distribution
So organisers can create secure perimeters, safe walkways and reliable power in busy public spaces.
2. Working In The Dark: Lighting and Visibility
With limited daylight, lighting is now critical rather than optional.
For construction, signage, external cleaning and maintenance work, we can provide:
- Lighting towers for larger sites and compounds
- Mobile floodlights for focused task lighting
- Safe access solutions for work at height
Suitable lighting not only improves productivity, it reduces slips, trips and falls – a particular risk on wet or frozen ground.
3. Winter Site Safety Essentials
Cold weather and poor visibility increase risk on every job.
We help site managers strengthen their safety set-up with:
- Barriers and fencing to separate vehicles and pedestrians
- Harnesses and fall-arrest kit for working at height
- Storage and welfare units to keep teams warm and organised
We can also advise on practical checklists for winter site safety so nothing gets missed in the year-end rush.
4. Sector-Focused Support
Different sectors feel winter pressures in different ways. Right now, we are actively supporting:
- Construction sites aiming to make structures watertight before Christmas
- Signage and installation teams working to tight pre-Christmas deadlines
- External cleaning contractors taking advantage of quieter trading hours
- Warehouse and logistics teams managing extended shift patterns
For each, we can match powered access, material handling and storage and welfare equipment to the reality on the ground, not just what looks good on a list.
